P and P #4

In the midst of the uproar over Mr. Collins proposal to Elizabeth, Charlotte Lucas, Elizabeth’s best friend begins hanging out with Mr. Collins more and more until Mr. Collins proposes to Charlotte. Charlotte excepts his proposal and she accepts. Elizabeth is appalled that her friend married for money and security rather than love. Then all of a sudden the residents of Netherfield disappear and Jane receives a letter in the mail from Caroline Bingley. The letter states that Mr. Darcy and the Bingleys have all gone to London on a little business. Also from what the letter says, Ms. Bingley hopes that her brother will marry Darcy’s sister and Jane becomes distraught. In the next few days another letter arrives from Ms. Bingley stating that the Bingleys and Mr. Darcy will never ever return to Netherfield. Jane becomes increasingly depressed. Elizabeth becomes extremely angry with the Bingley sisters and Mr. Darcy. She becomes like hulk angry and blames the 2 sisters and Mr. Darcy for interfering in Jane’s happiness. Mr. Wickhum comes around the Bennets abode a lot to see Jane and she becomes increasingly happy to see him. They get drawn closer and closer to each other in my opinion.
