Pride and Prejudice assignment 1

So far the language is a little bit difficult for me to read, but a lot easier to read then "Jane Eyre". I think i feel this way because the beginning of this story is a little more straight forward and it just goes straight to the point, when in "Jane Eyre" the beginning is sort of scattered all over the place. So i feel that Pride and Prejudice is easier to read but is difficult to read because of the old fashion type language. There are some words that would throw me off and make me concentrate of the entire sentence and read the sentence a couple times in order to understand what Jane Austen was trying to say. On to the plot of the book. I feel that I can already see how this book is supposed to be a funny book, but I don't quite understand the jokes because I'm a modern person, but I would bet that people in Jane Austen's century would laugh at these kind of books. I still find this book amusing but i feel that if i could understand more of what Austen was trying to say. Overall though I think that Pride and Prejudice is going to be a great book I just have to be patient.
