P and P Assignment 1.

In the first few chapters of Pride and Prejudice, we are introduced to Mr. Bennet and Mrs. Bennet. Mrs. Bennet is telling Mr. Bennet that a house down the street or something has been leased to a strapping young gentlemen named Mr. Bingley has moved in and he is single. Bingley has also brought along a friend of his named Mr. Darcy. Then Mr. Bennet recommends his daughter Elizabeth who is the smartest of them all and Mr. And Mrs. Bennet are arguing about this. Later the Bennets meet Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley at a party and Bingley dances with Elizabeth’s sister Jane the most. Mr. Darcy, doesn’t even recognize Elizabeth at all. Darcy just says these prideful and prejudice things about Elizabeth and Elizabeth returns the favor later by insulting Mr. Darcy, hence the name of the book Pride and Prejudice. After the ball Jane and Elizabeth talk about and Elizabeth comments on Darcy’s snarkyness and Jane comments on Bingley’s good sense of humor. Later Charlotte and Elizabeth are talking about how rude Darcy and Charlotte says that thanks to his money and power Darcy can be that rude and Elizabeth agrees with her.
