PP: Assignment 1

I was somewhat glad to read this book because not only was this book different from Jane Eyre, but it was also not going to be told in first person. In addition to that, this is the first pleasant novel that is a romantic novel. In comparison to Jane Eyre, then it is my first positive romance. That being said I think I really liked the beginning of this book, because I feel like I am getting a good feel for what each character’s personality is like. I think that the language is a little different, because of the time that it was written, but I don’t think that it has thrown me off too much. I think that as the story continues, the language may continue to get difficult, but I must continue reading the story. The beginning of this story actually reminds me of The Taming of the Shrew. In the sense that two daughters need to be married and they are both different. The only difference is that the oldest sister is actually interested in the guy, hence Jane dance with Bingley twice. Whereas Elizabeth has cannot stand Darcy, it is actually sort of humorous. I am curious to see how these relationships change throughout the story, so I am very curious to see where the story goes from there.
