300 word essay

In this article the author gives her own review on the Shakespeare based play the taming of the shrew. She also uses other examples from other people and what they thought of the play. It seems as if everyone had there own opinions on the play both positive and negative. There were some very little harsh comments made more criticizing on the story’s concept and comparing Shakespeare version to other versions such as, Peter Short’s version. I think from reading the article some people say that Shakespeare’s version was a bit more different and I guess lost a little bit of the concept. I wouldn’t necessarily say that he lost the concept, but maybe his version was changed up a bit because maybe he wanted a little more excitement. Like for instance, in this play he uses actual women playing the women parts, at least that’s what I know. Some people do find Shakespeare’s version sexist, im guessing because of the way Kate is being treated by Petruchio throughout they play, in which to some extent I have to agree on. But on the other hand, he wasn’t necessarily abusing her that was his way of teaching her a lesson, just like what the title says, he was taming her. So I will have to disagree with that also.
