TOTS:Act 2

Katherine tries to see if Bianca would confess to her that she likes Hortensio but Bianca keeps telling her that she doesn’t have any mutual feelings towards him and Katherine doesn’t believe her and continuously backhands her in the face to make her tell the truth. And Bianca gets annoyed after awhile and wants her sister to stop harassing her because she knows that she is innocent on all accounts but Katherine doesn’t believe her worth anything, since she has strong feelings for Hortensio which Bianca doesn’t show any interest in. This situation shows Katherine’s jealousy of Bianca in which all the other suitors adore her more than Katherine and all Katherine wants to do is call her out and make her look guilty, but instead Bianca calls her out by bringing up a jealousy issue to make her even more angry and more jealous at her sister. Bianca doesn’t understand why Katherine is doing this to her and doesn’t really appreciate her hitting her in the face just to show how she feels so insecure of her Bianca’s personality and how she attracts more people than Katherine does. So pretty much the whole point of her tying her sister’s hands together is so that she can basically accuse of liking someone she has feelings for when it’s not even true.
