Introduction Questions

When we first started reading this play I expected it to be hard to understand because I had always heard that Shakespeare was complicated to understand. I expected it also to be very interesting and good like Romeo and Juliet. That play was drama filled and so far so is this one is too, just like i expected it to be. I found out what the "Shrew" is that the title is talking about and I found out that the Shrew is a man named Baptista's oldest daughter, Katherine. Katherine is a young women who is loud and nobody really likes her. The person doing the taming is Petrucio. He plans on taming her by killing her with kindness. His version of kindness is when the food comes he throws it on the ground and says that its not good enough for her. When it is time for bed he throws the pillows on the floor saying they are not soft enough and tosses the cover on the floor saying its not good enough.
