Taming of the Shrew Act III

Act III is a little bit funny to me because Lucentio basically tells Bianca that he’s in a disguise. Also this is when things start to get difficult. For example Katharine was supposed to be a mean and vile shrew, but then she starts to cry. I think this shows that she has a sensitive side to her. Pertrutio I think has taken on a big challenge for him since he has to find a way to make Kate calm, but she’s just mean and she insults people so much. So now that everything is sort of starting to show up it’s getting to be to much change way, way to quickly. I think what might make things funny is that in order for Pertrutio to “put out Kate’s flames” he’s going to have to show this evil dark side to him and he’s going to have to be even more evil then Kate is and she’s just insane. Also the agreement of the tutors is that Hortensio as (Litio) and Lucentio as (Cambio) will both teach Bianca at the same time but Cambio keeps telling Litio to tune up his guitar even when his guitar is fine. When Pertrutio comes to the wedding, he’s dressed as bad as you could ever look when you go to a wedding. He’s wearing a weird looking hat and he’s wearing very badly chosen clothes. Also something that has everyone at the wedding amazed is Pertrutio pushes the priest down on the ground.

  1. Ben, I agree that this is when it all starts to get a little confusing. That's why I like to make those nametags!
