Assignment 11

Overall, I am very glad with how the book ends. I love that through the marriage of Bingley and Jane and Elizabeth and Darcy, all family and friends seem to come closer together and enjoy each others company... almost. It is a bit disappointing that Lydia and Mr. Wickham have continued to be separate from the rest of the family. They are still acting the same, asking for money and showing up unwelcomed so much that even Mr. Bingley is growing tired of them. It is also a little disappointing that Lady Catherine de Bourgh is still holding a grudge against Elizabeth and Darcy for going against her wishes, although it seems she has lightened up a little bit. I’m glad that Elizabeth is also getting along with her new sister in law, Georgiana. Even though some of the characters are still negative influences, I suppose it is expected of them. They are all either too conceited or young and stupid to notice or care to change their ways. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed reading this novel and I think I got a lot out of it. Besides learning the text, I was also able to learn a lot about the woman who wrote this fantastic book and see her personality shine through the words.
