PP:Assignment 9

I think that based on these past few chapters alone it is clear why Elizabeth’s feelings have changed so significantly. I think in the last couple of chapters Mr. Darcy began to change in a way that had a major influence on Elizabeth. One of the main examples of that came in chapter 51, where she actually begins to want to marry him, and hopes that he does propose to her. I thought that the more this chapter progressed; it seemed to put things in perspective for her as well as myself. I could not believe the way both Lydia and Mr. Wickham were acting. I think I can excuse Lydia to an extent because of how young she is. However, I have completely disowned Mr. Wickham as the good guy in the story, he has completely switched roles I the story. I think that Mr. Bennet has had a tremendous impact on this part in the story. I think I liked his “approach” to things usually, but he seemed a little too lax in certain situations, mainly this one. I think if he had listened to Elizabeth, rather than send Lydia off, none of this would have happened. As far as Jane and Bingley’s engagement, I think it could work out; it is hard for me to say because they were distant from each other so long. Now that things seem to be going well for Jane, I am curious to see what happens with Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.
