Assignment # 8

The news that Elizabeth gets in the letter from Jane, is that Mr. Wickham and their youngest sister Lydia have run off together. This is very bad news because, as soon as Lydia and Mr. Wickham were in the same carriage they shamed the Bennet family. The reaction she gets from Mr. Darcy when she tells him this news makes Lizzy think that she's never going to see Mr. Darcy again, because she thinks that he doesn't want anything to do with her family because if the position they are in. The details told by Darcy about Mr. Wickham say that Wickham isn't going to marry Lydia and that he's just going to take advantage of her, like he did to Mr. Darcy's sister. I think that it's very clear that Mr. Darcy pretty much hates Wickham because he not only shamed the Darcy family, but now he's going to take advantage of 16 year old Lydia and shame the Bennet family. Mr. Bennet goes to London to go find Lydia, Mrs. Bennet wont leave her room because she is too sad. And i think that Lizzy, Jane, and Mary are ashamed of her. And last but not least I think Kitty knew this was going to happen and thats why she dosent have that much of a reaction.
