Assignment 2

So far in the book, I am really enjoying learning about Elizabeth and her family. She is quite the opposite from them it seems, being very headstrong and realizing that there are more important things in life than marriage. She is always sure of her opinion and shares it frequently. I like that she doesn’t care what other people think and has a mind of her own, which seems to be something most Elizabethan women lack. It is also nice to see that she is incredibly loyal to her sister Jane and will do just about anything to help her. When Jane falls sick at Netherfield, Elizabeth walks several miles to give her aid and is made fun of when she arrives for being covered in dirt and mud but doesn’t seem to mind. I am surprised to find that Mr. Darcy develops feelings for Elizabeth so early on in the book. I am also curious to see how the inheritance of the Bennet property will follow through, seeing as none of Mr. Bennets daughters or his wife are allowed to have any of it because it has to be passed down to a male.
