Assignment 3

Mr. Collins might be the most absurd character in any book I have ever read. He is incredibly pompous and thinks of very highly of himself and Lady Catherine De Bourgh. He doesn’t seem to be the brightest man but still feels it necessary to give his full opinion on everything. I don’t think he poses any threat to Darcy’s heart, as Elizabeth seems to really detest the idea of Mr. Collins. Mr. Wickham seems to be a nice guy who is obviously attracted to Elizabeth. I find it strange though that he and Mr. Darcy dislike each other so much and that they both have different stories to tell about each other. They both make the other person out to be bad and I am interested in seeing how the truth comes about. I think he definitely poses a threat to Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth because she seems to like Mr. Wickham much more than Darcy. However, with Mr. Darcy being around, Mr. Wickham seems to not want to show his face so as long as Mr. Darcy keeps hanging around the Bennets’ and company, Wickham will not be so imposing on Elizabeth.
