Assignment 7

When Elizabeth visits Mr. Darcy’s estate, his housekeeper gives them a tour and goes on about how nice Darcy is the whole time and how he is the best master in the world. We learn that Darcy and Wickham were childhood friends and as a young boy, Darcy was very kind and warm hearted. While touring the grounds, Mr. Darcy shows up unannounced and Elizabeth is very embarrassed to be seen there after what happened between them. He however, is very kind to her and asks if she would like to meet his sister. She obliges, and the next day they meet. I have always been somewhat fond of Mr. Darcy and I am glad that the nasty accusations put against him have been cleared. I think his and Elizabeth’s relationship is quickly evolving into something more than just friendship, but with some rocky happenings in between. I am glad to see that Elizabeth isn’t keeping such a tight grudge against Mr. Darcy now and is starting to understand his side of the story.
