P and P #5.

In chapters 26-30 of Pride and Prejudice, Charlotte Lucas is married to Mr. Collins. The newly-weds soon leaves for Mr. Collins home in Kent. Later that year, during winter, Mrs. Bennet’s brother and sister-in-law Mr. And Mrs. Gardiner come to visit for the holidays. While staying there, Elizabeth and Mrs. Gardiner get into a heated conversation about Elizabeth being in love with Mr. Wickham. Elizabeth completely denies it. After the holidays, the Gardiners take Jane with them to London, so she might be able to see something of Mr. Bingley. During that time, Jane leaves with Mr. Lucas and his youngest daughter to go see Charlotte in Kent. When the trio arrives in Kent, they are immediately bombarded with all of Mr. Collins stupid blabber about Lady Catherine De Bourgh, and his house and garden. Eventually, Elizabeth is introduced to Lady Catherine and she is not impressed. Elizabeth also sees Mr. Darcy there, as well as Mr. Darcy’s friend, Cournal Fitzwilliam. Elizabeth then inquires about Jane being in London, and if Mr. Darcy had ever saw her. Mr. Darcy replies that he hadn’t.
