P + P assignment 6

Elizabeth thinks that Mr. Darcy sabotaged Jane's chances to marry MR. Bingley because when Lizzy and Fitzwilliams and her were walking in the feild, he tells her that Mr. Darcy saved Bingley from a terrible marriage that never would've worked out. Mr. Darcy's proposal was both a little bit sweet, and harsh at the same time. It was sweet because he was saying things like "I Love you", but it was harsh because he first said that his and her social class were heavily separated and that would probably bring shame upon his family because Lizzy's sisters are very embarrassing and that she is basically this poor woman that has nothing to give him in return to his hand in marriage. I personally wouldn't accept a proposal like that because he both complimented and insulted her all at the same time and those don't just cancel out, the insults hurt more then compliments feel good. When Mr. Darcy writes the letter to Lizzy, he tells her that Mr. Wickham is the one that did things wrong, and shamed the Darcy family. He says that Mr. Wickham tricked Darcy's sister into thinking that he loved her, but he only wanted to marry for fortune and when he found out he wouldn't get any money he kicked her to the curve and decided that he didn't love her anymore.
